Clay Art Center & ArtsWestchester bring new clay arts programming to White Plains youth! 

In partnership with ArtsWestchester, Clay Art Center has a new satellite ceramic studio focusing on providing artistic opportunities to the youth, teens and seniors of White Plains. The new classroom is located in ArtsWestchester’s Arts Exchange building, at 31 Mamaroneck Avenue right in the heart of downtown White Plains. Clay Art Center will administer the program, providing the full artistic and educational support of teaching artists and their technical knowledge.

Who says clay can’t be for grown-ups? Clay is a unique medium. It’s messy.  It’s tactile.  You start with a moist, dark lump of clay and from these humble beginnings, magic happens.  In this program for seniors, the young at heart will experience the thrill of learning like a kid again.

In this class for tweens and teens students will explore the art of figure sculpting. Students will work closely with the figure and create portrait busts and more while learning about expressive figure sculpture.
