Creative Ways with Colored Clays: A Workshop with Chris Campbell
PRE-NCECA!: Friday, March 26, 6 - 9pm, Saturday – Sunday, March 27-28, 10am – 5pm

Chris will teach several methods of coloring clay, including mixing slips, creating secondary colors, fading colors, creating murrini patterns and using these patterns in various ways to enhance wheel thrown or handbuilt projects. Students will learn how to incorporate these techniques into their own work with exciting and energizing results. Familiarity with clay will enhance your learning experience.
Chris Campbell has been a Studio Potter in Raleigh, North Carolina since 1989. She learned the basics of colored clay murrinis in 1991 from Jane Pieser and has spent the years since then experimenting with colors and patterns while defining her own style. She wrote the "Down to Business" column in Pottery Making llustrated from 2001- 2004 and has written articles on colored clay for both PMI
and Clay Times. In 2007 she was an NCECA panelist for "Studio Potters-Sharing the Dream". In 2008 she was an NCECA Connections Group Leader for “Marketing your
