Clay Art Center

Clay Art Center seeks a Development Associate to work 30 hours per week in a vibrant non-profit ceramic art organization in Port Chester, New York.  Individual needs to be energetic, organized, have strong people skills and desire a career in development and fundraising in an arts organization.  This person will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Board’s fundraising committee to implement and support the necessary infrastructure to bolster fundraising capacity within the organization. 

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to increasing current funding levels through expanded CAC membership and annual campaigns, targeted grant writing, managing the donor database and supporting volunteers/staff for fund raising and friend raising events, including gallery openings and events throughout the year.   

Candidate Requirements:  At least 2-3 years of experience in a nonprofit development office, preferably in the arts. Candidate must have excellent organization, writing, communications and computer skills; have passion for the ceramic arts, ability to establish priorities, set & achieve goals and be a high-energy team player. 

Start date: November 2012
