EMPTY BOWLS 2012

Clay Art Center celebrates its community service and outreach month by hosting its 12th year of the Empty Bowls event and fundraiser. Empty Bowls is a national organization raising awareness about issues of hunger and food insecurity.

This year on January 7th  more than 50 students and artists came to share their generosity by helping us make bowls for the event. Clay Art Center staff, artists, students and volunteers created one of a kind bowls of all shapes and sizes on and off the potter’s wheel, and each bowl made on site will be donated to the Fundraiser.  Clay Art Center provided all materials, and CAC artists will volunteer their time during the event, and after to trim and glaze each bowl created.

Please join us for the fundraising event held on Sunday, January 29th at 11am at  Rye Presbyterian Church, located at 882 Boston Post Road in Rye, NY. The Kneaded Bread, a local Port Chester bakery, will donate their unique breads and The Cornerstone Caterers will donate delicious  soups. All proceeds from Empty Bowls will be donated to local soup kitchens. ALL are welcome to come. All proceeds from Empty Bowls will be donated to local soup kitchens.
