Getting Personal:  Handbuilding with Wesley Anderegg

Saturday-Sunday, May 19-20, 10am -5pm
Fee: $180 members; $200 non-members

Wesley combines handbuilding, sculpture and mixed media construction methods to produce his one-of-a-kind pieces.  Often a humorous political commentary on our lives, his work evokes a sense of whimsy and brings out the inner child. In this hands-on workshop Wesley will demonstrate many of his handbuilding techniques for making eyes, hands, teeth, mouths, ears, etc.  Students will then use these techniques to make a piece of their own. As always there will be discussion on choice making, narration, surface and life in general.

Wesley Anderegg received his B.S. in Geography from Arizona State University in Tempe, and has been resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts in Helena Montana, and at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado. His work is included in such collections as the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian, Mint Museum of Craft and Design and the Fredrick R. Weisman Museum in Minneapolis among others.
