As a community we are deeply saddened to see
the destruction in Japan to its people due to the earthquake and tsunami. The Clay Art Center community wants to help! We are inviting you to come and join us to celebrate the food, art and culture of Japan and in turn help raise much needed funds for the Earthquake Relief Fund.
Since its founding in 1957, the history of Clay Art Center and Japan have been deeply intertwined. Our founder Henry Okamoto was Japanese. Many artists from Japan have worked & continue to work in the studios, teach Japanese techniques in classes and workshops or make pottery that has at its heart a Japanese aesthetic.
