Valentine & Clark Emerging Artist Fellow

Westchester Community Foundation has funded the Valentine & Clark Emerging Artist Fellow through The Emily & Harold E. Valentine and Evelyn Gable Clark Scholarship Fund. Caitlin Newman, a BFA graduate of Skidmore College was selected as the first recipient, for the 2011-12 year, of this prestigious fellowship. In addition to having studio space and time to develop her work, she will also teach classes in CAC’s growing Community Arts Program.

	This program is made possible, in part by the Basic Program Support grant of Arts Westchester with funds from Westchester County Government and grants from the New York State Council on the Arts.	For over 50 years, the Clay Art Center (CAC) has been the largest and most active ceramics facility in Westchester county, dedicated solely to the advancement of the ceramic arts. Believing strongly that the arts has the ability to touch and enrich lives, our mission is to offer a stimulating space for studio practice, exhibition and educational opportunities to better serve the community. Our vision is to "kindle a passion for the ceramic arts and provide a community for that passion to flourish."
