JOIN WORK EXCHANGE
Exchange labor towards your CAC class fee, up to half of your tuition, for a Clay Art Center class.
Hours of work can be completed with the following tasks (Exchange rate is $8 per hour):
- Mailings
- SHOP at CAC/Front Desk
- Gallery Exhibitions
- Special Events
- Database Maintenance
- Office Administration Work
- Studio/Classroom Maintenance
- Spontaneous Need and Desperation
As a beginning exchange worker you can earn up to half of your tuition. For those who have proven their dedication, you may negotiate for full tuition relief. We prefer that work exchange students have a consistent weekly time in which they come to CAC to work, based on their availability.
While most of the jobs require you to be at CAC during business hours, there are some tasks that can be completed at home.
CAC is a non-profit arts organization; your investment of time and labor assists CAC in continuing its vision to kindle a passion for the ceramic arts and provide a community for that passion to flourish.
Be Proactive! Let us know if you have some free time to help-us-help-you work off hours, or give us ideas and suggestions about the program or our community.
Expectations:
- When you become a Work Exchange Student you sign a job contract with CAC. We depend on you. Please treat this as you would any other paid position.
- Students are expected to work the hours owed during the session in which
they are enrolled.
- You owe the balance of your class fee until your work-exchange status has been approved and you have signed our contract. If an individual withdraws or stops attending, they are still obligated to pay their balance due to CAC. Payment can be made through work-exchange or with cash, credit, or check. Individuals with a balance will be billed at the end of the semester and may forfeit their work-exchange status. Students whom consistently neglect their responsibilities will not be allowed to do work-exchange in the future.
