WORKSHOPS

Clay Art Center invites nationally and internationally known artists for workshops and lectures. They vary in length from one to five days and are presented as a dynamic educational opportunity to clay artists of all levels.

Workshop Enrollment and Refund Policies:

-Tuition is due in full at time of registration

-There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee

-Tuition is refundable until two weeks before the workshop

-Workshops with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled and payment fully refunded

Working with porcelain, students will explore manipulating the form of freshly thrown pots.  This five-day workshop will focus on the expressive use of the pouring vessel. We will explore the possibilities of making teapots, pitchers, creamers, and cruets using wheel thrown and combined parts.

In this three-day workshop we will explore paper clay as a sculptural medium.  Demonstrations will include clay preparation, building techniques for using paper clay, surface and color, firing and non-firing options; all to achieve qualities of translucency, weightlessness and sculptural building ease.
