Animals as sculptural and functional objects and Clay as an animal of a material. Explore contemporary sculptural building methods as we create creatures both real and imagined.
Topics Include:

  • Tools and tricks for creating the right kind of texture for your surface, be it fur, skin, scale or feathers.

  • Using pinch pot techniques to make larger figures

  • Oxides, washes, and stains; what differentiates them, and how to use them in your own work

  • The firing process, and how to achieve your desired results


*No refunds will be given once a class has been confirmed via email. Prior to this time a refund can be issued, minus a $25 registration fee. {Exceptions are only made in the event of extenuating circumstances, but require a doctor's note or written request describing the situation, and must be approved by the Executive Director.}

  • Tuition is due in full at time of registration.

  • Classes with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled and payment fully refunded.

  • There are no refunds for missed classes.  

  • Tuition does not include clay, tools or firing. Please see our full policies for details.

  • Tuition is non-transferable.

  • In the event of an emergency closing, students will be emailed and classes will be rescheduled.  The website home page will indicate whether classes and/or open studios are cancelled and if the offices are closed.
