Class FAQ

  • I’m a member, how do I use my member discount?

    • There is no longer a member discount on classes. Instead of a $20 discount on classes, a $20 credit will be added on member credit logs after registering for multi-week classes of 5 weeks or more, once per term, up to 4 times per year. Please reach out to cacdevelopment@clayartcenter.org with any questions about membership.

  • I’m a member with class credit from a past Term, how do I use my class credit?

    • Look for the most recent code you received in an email from Clay Art Center. This code will apply your class credit to your purchase. Email mail@clayartcenter.org if you need your code.

  • I’m NOT a member but have a class credit from a past Term, how do I use my credit?

    • Look for the most recent code you received in an email from Clay Art Center. This code will apply your class credit to your purchase. Become a member and gain access to early registration. Email mail@clayartcenter.org if you need your code.

  • Will there be Open Studio?

    • Yes. Open Studio is available to currently enrolled students, on a first-come, first-served basis, and by reservation only.

    • Students may register for up to one open studio slot in advance and one slot on the day of depending on availability. We have more students than open studio slots so we can’t guarantee a slot every week.

    • Please cancel your reservation if you cannot make it to open studio, you can do this through your confirmation email or by calling 914-937-2047.

    • Open Studio Calendar will be released one week in advance.

  • Do I need supplies?

    • Yes. Clay, tools, and firing fees are not included in tuition for adult classes, unless noted. You will be able to buy supplies at your first class using your credit log which should be purchased in advance. We recommend starting with at least a $50 credit log.

    • Returning students: go to the Credit Log page to confirm your previous credit log balance so you can refill if needed before the term starts.

    • Prices for Maker Nights, Teen & Tween Wheel, and some Youth & Family classes already include clay and firing. Check course description to see if clay and firing is included.
