Join exhibiting artist Alvaro Villa for a hands-on extruder demo! Are you curious how Rittenberg Artist-in-Residence Alvaro designed, extruded and constructed his ceramic kiln on view right now in the gallery? Join us as Alvaro takes us through the processes he used in designing and construction of the ceramic kiln utilizing 3D printed extruder dies and the extruder as a primary building tool. The presentation will cover how digital models can be used to generate precise measurements, gauges, templates, and construction guides that streamline the building process. Topics include calculating wall thicknesses, aligning extruded sections with brick dimensions and organizing parts for efficient construction.
