Facilities and Equipment

Thanks to the generous support of donors and members, we’ve been able to expand our facilities to include equipment to support a broad range of ceramic styles and needs.

Firing Facilities

  • 2 front-loading downdraft gas kilns (1 manual and 1 Bailey automatic) for artists

  • 1 downdraft Bailey Automatic Shuttle Gas Kiln (for students)

  • 10 top-loading electric kilns (1 test kiln, 2 for artists, 7 for students)

  • 1 raku kiln

Wheels and Clay Tools

  • 43 wheels, Brent & Shimpo (39 classroom wheels, 4 for artists)

  • 3 pug mills (for classroom use)

  • 7 slab rollers (4 for students, 3 for artists)

  • 4 extruders (3 for students, 1 for artists)

Glazing and Finishing

  • Fully equipped glaze room (artists)

  • 1 spray booth (artists)

  • Auxiliary tools (grinders, dremel)

Presentation

  • Photo equipment for documenting work (artists)
