Our shop and gallery are open Mondays to Saturdays for visitors, and we offer classes for adults and youth (ages 6+). Classes require online registration and are not open for drop-ins. Read more about how you can visit below.

Weekly Exhibition and Studio Tours

Clay Art Center runs a weekly program of Free Public Guided Exhibition and Studio Tours.

Tours of the facility take place every Wednesday at 11:30am. Visitors will begin their tour with a guided exploration of the current exhibition, led by the Exhibitions & Marketing Director or another staff member. The tour will also cover the history of Clay Art Center and permanent collection of ceramics by Katherine Choy, one of the founders of Clay Art Center. Additionally, visitors may also make a guided visit to the artist studios, ceramics classrooms, and kiln facilities.

These tours are free to the public and no appointment is necessary. Tours meet at the Gallery (Blue Door off the parking lot). For group tours at other times, contact Clay Art Center by email (mail@clayartcenter.org) or by phone: 914 937 2047.

Gallery and Shop at Clay Art Center

Our Gallery and Shop are wonderful places to find inspiration and unique pieces of art for your home.

Visit our in-person and online shop to purchase handmade works by Clay Art Center artists, former artists-in-residence, and invited regional and national makers. The shop has a variety of items including mugs and bowls to make meal time into a celebration, sculptural home accents to suit your individual style, and gifts for weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations.

Clay Art Center Gallery provides a platform for emerging and established artists to explore a wide range of topics that address materials, process, and techniques, and to engage in a critical dialog through clay. Our commitment is to exhibit a wide variety of work representing diverse backgrounds, and to support our artist and student communities through gallery programming opportunities. One-Time Classes for Adults & Families

Clay Art Center’s one-time classes are a great introduction to clay and a fun artsy outing. For the whole family try Saturday Clay for ages 6+ where our instructors will lead you in a themed handbuilding project. Or plan a fun evening at Family Wheel Night (ages 10+) to learn how to use the potter's wheel. For adults try Maker Night (ages 17+), winner Best of Westchester for best artsy night out, as they walk you through how to throw on the potter's wheel.

Weekly, Special Topic Classes, & Workshops

Whether you are new to clay or an experienced potter, we have adult or youth handbuilding, sculpture, and wheel throwing classes designed for you. We also have special topic classes and workshops to learn new techniques. Learn more and register.

By Car

We share a public parking lot with a church and other local businesses. Free three hour parking is available in the center of the lot and against the fence (to the right of gallery entrance). All other spaces are restricted, please see attached map (PDF).

There are no parking restrictions in the public lot on Sundays or after 6PM on any day.

If needed, additional parking is available:

  • Along Beech Street (parallel parking). Be sure to check signs for street cleaning hours.

  • In the Metro North Railroad Commuter parking garage on the second level, above the Marshalls. Please note this area is metered and checked during the weekdays. This is approximately a 3 minute walk to Clay Art Center.

By Train

Metro North train: The closest Metro North Station is Port Chester Station on the Stamford/New Haven Line, approximately a 7 minute walk to Clay Art Center.
