ARTIST STATEMENT

I create ceramic pieces meant to brighten daily life—adding color, personality, and joy to everyday objects. Working primarily in stoneware, I hand-paint original designs with underglazes and carve into the surface so the clay body shows through, creating natural lines that give each piece rhythm and depth. A clear glaze, fired to cone 6, unifies the surface and enhances the colors.

Drawn to color and detail, I spent years in television adding visual moments—through sets, props, graphics, or wardrobe—that helped tell the story. That same instinct now guides my ceramics, where the surface becomes a place for play, energy, and surprise. Inspired by nature, I create functional pieces meant to be held and used—objects that invite people to slow down, notice small details, and bring warmth, color, and happiness.
