ARTIST STATEMENT

Initially I was trained as a functional potter, but now I am primarily creating whimsical  non-functional pieces.   I have always been fascinated by birds and have become an avid bird-watcher; my observations have influenced my current work.  My bird-people are chimeras, combining avian bodies with human faces.  The finished bird people are hand painted with acrylics.
