A Week In Review: Positive Partnerships with Our Schools

Workshops in the community with John F. Kennedy Elementary School, Port Chester.

Clay Art Center is proud to continue to engage our community by partnering with schools and other non-profit organizations to offer opportunities for individuals to experience clay. This week, we were at John F. Kennedy Elementary School, Port Chester to provide enrichment programs to students. We can’t wait to see how the projects turn out! This program was funded by the Common Sense Fund, and taught by Westchester Community Foundation Fellow Steph Perez. Over the course of three days, we worked with the 5th graders and taught over one hundred students to make pinch pots that were transformed into animals, baskets, and more.

Creating access to the arts, and building the confidence of our local youth through positive and creative experiences builds better communities!
