Message from Executive Director Emily Peck: Thank YOU!

Executive Director Emily Peck shares recent updates made possible by our supporters.

Dear Clay Art Center Community:

Earlier this week we celebrated the opening of our Resident Artist exhibition. Our Resident Artists Stephanie Perez, Carley Holzem and Christine Raposas have all presented exhibitions that were inspired by nature and the human experience. Come by the Gallery before August 2nd to view the exhibitions.

Hopefully you all saw our announcement recently about our NYSCA Capital Design Grant. We are excited to be on the first step of making our dream a reality. There is still a lot of work to do but this will get us on the path.

Our free Around the World in Clay program for Port Chester students just completed their Spring session. You can read more about their culminating exhibition and also the high school field trip to the Met. We are looking forward to welcome many of these students as scholarship recipients to our summer camp.

We also just completed another free session with the Cancer Support Community at Gilda’s Club. This is how one student summed up their experience, “This is my 2nd session with Clay Expressions.  I cannot verbalize my gratitude to you about how important and restorative this course has been to my health, but also my growth as a person. Thank you so much for your immense gratitude at a time when funding for arts programs are dwindling.”

If you haven’t yet read our annual report, you can see the impact we made last year. We are going to need more space to show our impact this year and into the future!

Our community arts programs and residencies are funded with the support of government and private grants, as well as the funds we raise through the scholarship campaign and individual donations. Thank you to all of you for helping make all this work possible!

See you in the Studio,

Emily Peck
