Artist Statement

I've come to love ceramics for its ability to be both functional and a vehicle for storytelling. This discovery inspires my current work as I balance simple forms and utility with character and whimsy. My surface designs feature clean lines and charming imagery, often inspired by nature and personal experience. I aim to infuse humor and wonder, lending lightness even to serious themes. Sgraffito offers a meditative, handson connection to each piece. While my palette is mostly monochrome, I do use color, lustres and texture to highlight narrative elements and energize the surface. Each functional piece or set celebrates everyday life with playful imagination, showing that the objects we use daily can reflect a creative spirit that connects us all.
