Artist Statement

My current artistic inspiration blossoms from the vibrant, convivial atmosphere of a garden party. The interplay of natural elements-lush foliage, a kaleidoscope of floral hues, and the delicate dance of contrast and colorcombined with the human connection of celebration, fuels my creative process in functional ceramics. Each piece is imagined as a potential centerpiece for these moments of gathering. Using the ceramic form as canvas, I draw, carve, and paint with bright underglazes to capture the beauty of the festive spirit. Bold strokes might echo the unfolding petals of a blooming lily or the shape of a tulip, while carving accentuates the drawing and adds texture. Functionality is essential-these are pieces meant to be used, held, and shared. In this way, art becomes a tactile part of everyday ritual. I aim to infuse the table with handmade artistry that sparks conversation and just makes people smile.
