Artist Statement

Sitting around our family table we use pieces that have significance in what we value in our culture, time and environment. Some objects might reflect our lineage, utilitarian pieces that have been used over the decades and new pieces that have meaning to us in the present. My salt and pepper set is meant to be thought provoking, for those around the table. It is a functional piece in that it houses salt and pepper. At the same time it invokes whimsey in its playfulness It has removable parts that can move around and be played with setting a stage for starting conversations about our place in the world.
