Artist Statement
Your time is NOW.
When thinking about the theme of time and space, I was inspired by a sign I saw graffitied on a wall in the street. It read; YOUR TIME IS NOW. To me, the sign was a reminder to stay in the present and celebrate ourselves, as is, right now.
In addition, most of us tend to think more about the past or the future, and have a harder time staying in the present, the NOW. To demonstrate time and to help us stay in the moment, I created the word NOW. I then chose to decorate these letters with my signature three dimensional images. I made and applied flying birds, people with wings and moving airplanes to represent space along with images of a zipper, paper clips and random letters and numbers, just for fun. My hope is that the word NOW reminds us to stay present and to celebrate our unique and wonderful selves. Remember, YOUR TIME IS NOW!
